Golden Snacking Granola Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Golden Snacking Granola

  • 2 C. (500 mL) oats
  • 1 1/2 C. (375 mL) slivered almonds or coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/3 C. (300 mL) flaked coconut
  • 1/2 C. (125 mL) sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 C. (125 mL) wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) ground Saigon cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
  • 1 can (300 mL) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 C. (50 mL) Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1 C. (250 mL) banana chips (optional)
  • 1 C. (250 mL) raisins

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 300ºF (150ºC). In a large bowl, combine oats, almonds, coconut, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, sesame seeds, Ground Saigon Cinnamon and salt. Pour in sweetened condensed milk and oil. Mix well to combine.
  2. Spread evenly in aluminum foil-lined 15″ x 10″ (40 cm x 25 cm) jellyroll pan or baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven; stir in banana chips (optional) and raisins.
  4. Cool completely. Store leftovers, tightly covered at room temperature.
