Crisco® Oil Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

Crisco® Oil Biscuits

  • 2 C. (500 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. (4 mL) salt
  • 2/3 C. (150 mL) milk
  • 1/3 C. (75 mL) Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 425°F (220ºC).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add milk and oil; stir just enough to hold dough together.
  3. Knead lightly (about 10 strokes) on a well-floured surface. Pat or roll dough about 1/2 inch (30 cm) thick (makes about a 7″ (17.5 cm) circle) and cut with a floured 2″ (5 cm) cutter.
  4. Place on an ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with butter or your favourite Jam.
