INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium size loaf Italian or French bread
  • 1/4 C. (50 mL) Crisco® Pure Canola Oil 
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) minced parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) jarred minced garlic OR 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
  • 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 400°F (200ºC).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly. Slice bread in half lengthwise.
  3. In a small bowl, combine oil, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper. Spread mixture onto both bread halves.
  4. Place bread halves on baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200ºC) for 5 to 7 minutes, or until heated through and lightly brown.
  5. Slice and serve.
