Confetti Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS

Confetti Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 1/4 C. (300 mL) brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 C. (175 mL) Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) milk
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) pure vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 C. (375 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) salt
  • 3/4 tsp. (4 mL) baking soda
  • 1 C. (250 mL) coarsely chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1/2 C. (125 mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 C. (125 mL) white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 C. (125 mL) milk chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla; beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg.
  3. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Beat into shortening mixture at low speed until blended.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop two level Tbsp. (30mL) of dough into a mound for each cookie. Place each mound about 2″ (5 cm) apart on prepared baking sheets.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned but cookies appear moist.
  6. Cool for 2 minutes on baking sheets, and then transfer to cooling rack to cool completely.
