Be My Valentine Salad

Mixed salad greens are dressed with a lovely homemade honey Dijon Crisco® dressing, then topped with crunchy pumpkin and sunflower seeds and juicy dried cranberries.

Makes: 1 cup (250mL)

Ingredients

  • Dressing

  • ¾ cup 175 mL Crisco Vegetable or Canola Oil
  • ¼ cup 50 mL red wine vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp 5 mL honey
  • 1 tsp 5 mL Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp 5 mL salt
  • ¼ tsp 1 mL pepper
  • Salad

  • 8 cups 2 L mixed salad greens
  • 1 cup 250 mL dried cranberries
  • ½ cup 125 mL pumpkin seeds
  • ½ cup 125 mL sunflower seeds

Preparation

  1. Dressing: Combine all ingredients for dressing. Refrigerate until ready to use. Can be refrigerated for up to 5 days.
  2. Salad: Place salad greens, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds in a large bowl. Toss with desired amount of dressing. Refrigerate remaining salad dressing for future use.
