Crisco® Oil Biscuits

Makes: 9 to 12 medium biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 500 mL Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp 15 mL baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp 4 mL salt
  • 2/3 cup 150 mL milk
  • 1/3 cup 75 mL Crisco® Vegetable Oil

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 425°F (220ºC).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add milk and oil; stir just enough to hold dough together.
  3. Knead lightly (about 10 strokes) on a well-floured surface. Pat or roll dough about 1/2 inch (30 cm) thick (makes about a 7" (17.5 cm) circle) and cut with a floured 2" (5 cm) cutter.
  4. Place on an ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with butter or your favourite Smucker's® Jam.
